After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya and visit the famous rock fortress known as “Lion Rock” which is a UNESCO world heritage site and it’s one of the most important landmarks in Sri Lanka. During your visit, you can enjoy the stunning beauty of the surrounding from the top of the fortress. The elegant frescoes and well-advanced water gardens with fountains etc. are amazing attractions at the Lion Rock.

After visiting Lion Rock, you will be visiting a local house to see their meal preparation and enjoy a typical rice & curry lunch with them. In the afternoon, you can experience a very relaxing Ayurveda massage in a reputed therapy centre.

This is your third day in Sigiriya and after breakfast, proceed to Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO world heritage site. It was the second ancient capital of the island and this 12^th-century capital gives evidence of the creative knowledge of the Sri Lankan kings during that period.

Amongst the monuments, the Gal Vihara, Vatadage, Tuparama and Alahana Pirivena are known as the most important sites you must visit.

In the afternoon, you will be on a safari at the Minneriya National park in a 4X4 to observe wildlife in the region one of the most famous parks known for its herds of wild elephants.

After breakfast, proceed to Dambulla and visit the ancient cave temple, which has a great history that goes back to the 03^rd Century BC. This cave temple is known as the “Golden Temple” and is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. According to recorded history, it gave shelter and protection to a Sri Lankan king in the 1^st century B.C. who was defeated by invaders. After regaining his throne in Anuradhapura, the king converted these caves into a temple. This famous temple is divided into five caverns that house 153 exquisite Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan monarchs, and four Hindu deities.

For the past few days you were in the hot zone and this will change as you will travel towards a cooler mountainous region in Sri Lanka. After visiting the “Cave Temple”, leave for Kandy and en route you have a possibility of visiting places of interest, such as Spice Gardens and Batik factories in the Matale region to learn the interesting processes, which are disappearing from the present society today.

Arrive in the historical last kingdom, Kandy. In the evening, witness a cultural dance show and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha. This is the most venerated temple by the Buddhist community and is considered the heart of the Buddhist world. The Tooth Relic was gifted by a great Indian king during the 04^th century A.D.

Relax and enjoy the hotel environment on your last night in Sri Lanka before getting ready for your departure on the following day.

The last day of your short stay in Sri Lanka. Have your breakfast and then visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, which is another important attraction in Sri Lanka where you can enjoy a peaceful promenade. Thereafter, visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory in Geragama to see the entire process of the Sri Lankan tea industry.

Proceed to the Airport, and en route visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala to see many elephants bathing in a river situated in proximity.
