Your companion for the whole tour, the Aaryan CARS chauffeur guide, will meet and greet you on arrival. Then he will accompany you to Sigiriya en route visiting the historical caves in Dambulla filled with Buddha statues and colourful traditional paintings/frescoes.
The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site contains over 150 images of the Buddha. The largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock, spanning 14 meters.
Thereafter, you will proceed to the hotel in Sigiriya, and relax for some time. In the evening, commence your ascend to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to being a well-maintained model of ancient urban life, Sigiriya is also a rock-climbing adventure for many. You will be amazed by its ancient constructions dated 05th century AD, comprising of manmade water gardens and famous frescoes of heavenly damsels. On clear days, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sunset from the rock.
Return to the hotel and be at leisure after a couple of visits and a long journey.
On the second day of your tour, you will have to wake up a little early for the adventure-filled safari. Minneriya, Kaudulla, and Eco Park are popular for their herds of roaming wild elephants. These are the greatest sites for you to see the magnificent giants. Sri Lanka’s elephants change their territory from time to time for food and water. Hence, your jeep driver would suggest the exact park where they would be. You will be amazed by the herds of elephants roaming with their calves on the banks of reservoirs.
After the safari, continue towards Trincomalee.
Overnight stay is in a hotel in Trincomalee.
